The word is free

If your bound, get free with the word of God. 2 Timothy 2:9 says the word of God is not bound. The word of God is free. Its spirit of freedom will break the chains off your life. There is a song called “Break Every Chain” and the lyrics says that an army is raising up. And its true an army for God is rising. In this army, we fight with the whole armor found in Ephesians 6:14-17. It notes that the word of God is our sword, with it the chains of life will break and you that are bound will be set free. As the army of the Lord we will fight against the principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness according to Ephesians 6:12. God has equipped his people to fight for him in his army where he gets the glory out of every situation, where every chain is broken. For every frown there is a smile, for every heartache there is joy, for every bad thing there is good, For every devil driven situation, there is a godly solution. Remember that God can and he stands by his word.

Giving your life to God

Giving your life to God is a life changing event that takes place in every believers’ life. It’s how you start your journey with God. This is where you make a confession that Jesus is Lord. Making him Lord of your life saves you from the eternal fire of hell. Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth the lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Making this confession and being saved by God is the best decision you can make. With this confession you have received salvation. Romans 10:9 is the underlying principle of the sinner’s prayer. This prayer is prayed when in repentance for your sin and would like to be Christian. Some people use these words when praying the sinner’s prayer:

“Father, I am a sinner. I turn from my sins. I come to you asking for your forgiveness. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive. Jesus come into my heart. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

Romans 10:9 scripture is why it is worded the way it is. Receiving the Lord as your saviour is a lifestyle change that leaves you complete. It gives you what you have been missing. You are well on your way for the destiny God has for your life.

Watch it Pastor, Sin is not an option!

This message is aimed towards those in leadership. There are mistakes and mishaps that pastors and other leaders are making all over the body of Christ. We are saved by grace true enough, but as Christians their are some things that we should no better than to do after being in the Lord for a time. When in sim, you lead your flock to sin, which puts them out of the will of God. Being in sin can lead your flock to scatter. In the bible, prophet Jeremiah said to pastors Woe to those that scatter their flock. Jeremiah 23:1-4 When the word says woe means great sorrow and distress will come to you. Meaning you will pay for the consequences of your actions. Having sin in your life is not what God called you to. Holiness is what he called you to. This is walking out the will of God. Remember you are a leader and your actions can cause division or bring situations together. The root cause of division most times is sin and the cause for bringing a situation together is the love of God. Keep these things in mind. As a leader you are being watched because the moves you make are important so tread light and get out of sin. Because the wages of sin is death and God comes to gives us eternal life which means you can’t get eternal life not dealing with your hangups and different things that cause you to fail.

“Renew your Mind”

The fashions of this world will pass away. Don’t conform yourself to this world. Conforming means to Behave according to socially acceptable conventions or standards. Don’t be held by tradition. Conforming yourself to something outside God will cause you to sin or be out of his will for your life. The word says to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Roman 12:2. Going through a transformation for God will cause you to do what is good and acceptable. If you decide to sin, you will sin. If you decide to do good, you do good. This is why your mind has to be renewed. Renewing your ming puts you in the will of God. It allows you to show what is acceptable in his sight. As a Christian, one of our goals is to please God and to do his will. Knowing that he has given us everlasting life, if we do him a service of being one of his very own. Being his, does call for us to renew our minds day by day because we will become tempted to do other things. “Other things” are not always what’s correct or good in the sight of God. So we as Christians have to work to be pleasing and what is meant by that is as a servant you want the Lord to love what you do for him and how you reverence him. It’s important that we let God work on our inter-selves because your soul is at stake and the enemy will come in and try to destroy you. This is why everyday should be a new venture with God in renewing your mind bringing those thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ. How you can renew your mind is by the following:

1. Getting in the word and let it penetrate in the mind and spirit.
2. Prayer and Fasting: talk to God and let him talk to you.
3. Go to church and fellowship with other Christians, being around those that sin will cause you to sin.

“Doing good pays off”

Do good to people and things you are apart of especially when it concerns people and things of the Lord. Gal. 6:10 Put good things out so you can reap good things. Do not be weary in well-doing in due season you shall reap the word says. Galatians 6:9 There is nothing wrong with doing well despite of all the pressures that come against you like peer pressure or just lack of motivation. When you do something you get it back. The word says whatsoever a man sow, he shall reap. Gal. 6:7 Its best that you sow to the spirit. Sowing to the spirit will cause you to reap the spirit but you will in turn receive everlasting life. That’s one of the gifts God gives us if we do things in the spirit, but if you sow in the flesh you will reap corruption. Galatians 6:8 Corruption most times involves confusion and God is not the author of confusion. God is of peace. Jeremiah 29:11 says I know the thoughts I have for you, thoughts of peace and not of evil. God wants us to live and be in peace. So being in the flesh and sowing in the flesh contradicts what God wants for us. Being in the spirit and walking in the spirit will give you the ability to walk in peace that God wants for our lives. So do good in his sight to reap good things but most of all be in the spirit when sowing to walk the path God wants for us. He has a plan and doing the word maps it out for us.

“Prayer Works”

When you pray the Lord will hear you. God honors your prayer especially during those rough times. In the scriptures, Isaiah 38 illustrates God acknowledging prayer. King Hezekiah was sick to death and Isaiah the prophet said to him that he shall die and not live. King Hezekiah prayed to God and told God to remember the good he has done in his sight. Then Isaiah came back and said the Lord heard his prayer and that 15 years had been added to his life. See how God honored Hezekiah’s prayer. God will honor your prayer the same way if only you make time and effort. Hezekiah is a great example of prayer working in a believer’s life for the good during those bad times. It pays to have communication with Lord. He said cast all your cares upon him for he cares for you. The Lord is sincere about us especially when we make our requests known unto him. Walk in truth, keep a clean heart, and do good in God sight are three things Hezekiah did and reminded God when he prayed, if it were not so God wouldn’t have granted him more time on earth. To effectively pray and get an answer we must walk in truth, have a clean heart, and do good in his sight. Walking in truth is knowing the word of God and keeping his commandments. Having a clean heart takes some effort because you have to walk in love. Doing good in God’s sight is having good actions on a regular basis, living a godly lifestyle. We should give God our time so that he can communicate with us his plan he has for our live. Prayer and spending time with him opens the door for his plan and purpose to play out in your life.

Be holy

After becoming a servant of God, your end is everlasting life. He has given us a gift of eternal life through Christ. Romans 6:22,23 When you are a servant of God your fruit is holiness. Being holy is the result of much fasting, praying, and walking upright before the lord. Your footsteps will imitate the steps of Jesus. God wants his people to cry holy because that’s all God is. He is pure and righteous. He wants us to produce righteousness in our lives. The word tells us to cleanse ourselves from filthiness of the flesh and spirit to perfect holiness. Put away those things that are of the flesh and that’s bad for the spirit. II Corinthians 7:1 When you do things sometimes those things are spiritually connected and can have an effect on you. Be careful with what you do. Sometimes you have to fight for holiness and to keep it. Fighting for holiness is worth because of the generosity God has shown us by giving us eternal life having Christ die for our sins, and so many other things that God could be doing for you personally.

Who can separate us from the love of Christ?

There are so many things in our lives that we must attend to. People and situations come and go even tests and trials but the love of Christ goes no where. His love is there through the good and bad times even when you make the worst mistakes, he’s there. The word asks us the question who shall separate us from the love of christ? Romans 8:35 Is there anything in your life far more valuable than the love of Christ. In this text of Romans Chapter 8:38-39, Paul says he is persuaded that nothing will separate him from the love of Christ. Are you persuaded? DO you know there’s no greater love than the love of Christ? He died for the atonement of our sins and Jesus said it himself that there’s no greater love than for a man to lay his life down for his friends John 15:13. And he called whom he was speaking to friends. Most of the time he was talking to his disciples. Are you a disciple of Christ? Can he call you friend? Ask yourself these questions and examine yourself. It’s important to understand where you are so that you can work toward a better relationship and understanding with him. His love is there for you to receive because his love is far more greater than anyone you know.

Be a doer, not just a hearer

When you participate in activities, you do them because you heard about and wanted to be apart. When you hear something it’s up to you to do what you hear. The word tells us to b e doers of the word and not hearers only. James 1:22-23 We deceive ourselves when we don’t take an active role in doing the word. If you are not a doer, you could be someone who reflects on what you hear. When you reflect you ponder over and think about where things fit in your puzzle. There is something greater in store for a doer of the word. God anticipates on blessing his servants and those who keep his commandments and statues. Keep the word close til it becomes apart of your heart. What is in our hearts comes out in our actions, thoughts, and words. If the word is in your heart, people will see it in your actions, thoughts, and words. If you act, think, and talk in formation with the word of God people will notice a good thing about you.

Fighting in the army of the Lord

As a soldier in the army of the Lord, we should be strong in the Lord knowing he is with us in battle. You should put on the armour of God so that you can fight against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 It is not our neighbor we fight against it is the principalities and the rulers of darkness that we fight. God has given his people the whole armour so that we may be able to stand in that evil day against any demonic spirit that comes against us. The armour consists of loins girt about with truth, breastplate of righteousness, feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit which the word of God. All of these things prepare us for the day the devil comes against us. God has given us the equipment to not war after the flesh but to fight the devil and any principality that exalts itself. Where we do battle with the devil is in the spirit through prayer. Faithfully making our petitions known to God is how we come against any of the enemy’s tactics.
